What to Expect
Expect world-class authors, thought-provoking sessions and dynamic conversations with other curious, bookish people.

The Program
Our team works hard to create a world-class program that grows bigger every year. Expect over 35 sessions during the 10-day Festival which span genres including fiction, history, poetry, theater, politics and more.
We will release a list of approximately 15 names in June so you can get reading early. The full program, including the 2025 schedule and individual ticket sales, will be announced and go live in early September.
The Sessions
Sessions start promptly on time and last 60 minutes. Our typical format features authors in one-on-one conversation with an interlocutor, although this can vary depending on the session. A 45 conversation is followed by 15 minutes of audience Q&A. Immediately following each session, authors will participate in book signings on-site.

The Venue
All sessions will take place at the historic Dock Street Theatre in the heart of downtown Charleston.
There is a concession stand for light bites and refreshments and a beautiful courtyard to enjoy them in between sessions. You will also be able to purchase speakers books at our pop-up bookstore!
Dock Street Theatre is fully wheelchair accessible and the Festival team is here to help with any and all accessibility needs.

The City
Charleston has been voted the #1 city in the US by readers of Travel + Leisure 14 years in a row so suffice it to say, there’s a lot to do here!
Dock Street Theatre is located in the middle of the action so in between sessions you’ll have time to grab a coffee at a quaint café, enjoy a delicious meal at one of the many restaurants in the neighborhood, stretch your legs with a scenic walk along the Battery or do a spot of shopping on King Street. The options are endless.
